Re: 1p a day = over £600 in a year!
Sounds like a cracking idea Pixie, and good fun too...I may start doing that because I've got loads of small change I just can't seem to get rid of with lockdown and everybody wanting paying by card. I'm off to sort out one of those large sweet jars I might have hiding somewhere...Re: 1p a day = over £600 in a year!
I just sling all my spare change into jars anyway. The 1 and 2p, 5 and 10, and 20s. Sometimes I pour into a coin machine in the supermarket. I know you lose a percentage but it clears my purse, and goes towards shopping. I often count the coins to check when it’s worthwhile.Re: 1p a day = over £600 in a year!

It is such a good way to save - probably worth starting it in September, so that you have the full amount three months before Christmas, which would be a great help! Sadly I never have any cash these days - with this pandemic everything is bought online or, on the rare occasions I venture into a shop I pay with my phone.
