Love your name Uncle Joe, nice to see you back and settled, you'll soon be up and running......only joking. My other half has two new hips, says he sometimes feels like a rocking horse.

Gabi darlin' - you don't know the half of it - I've already had both hiops and both knees replaced previously. This operation was a replacement of an existing metal hip. At some time in June I have an appointment with another Orthopaedic Surgeon who will be looking at my ankles with a view to replacing them too!!!

Good to see you back Uncle Joe! Do you have to do any physiotherapy now?

Yes Annie darlin' - they're sending Physio-terrorists to me at home to make sure I'm doing the exercises the hospital have already given me. Am in trouble with them, 'cos the coping strategies I'm using are contrary to what I'm supposed to be doing.

Yes Ann darlin' - thank you - after a fashion - wound is still oozing slightly so District Nurses are calling daily to redress the wound. Physio-Terrorist is calling several times a week and giving me exercises to undertake (these are in addition to the ones the hospital instructed me to do on a daily basis when they discharged me). Still staggering around on elbow crutches, but am getting more used to them now and hopefully will be able to stand at the work surface in my kitchen and peel, chop and cook my own food.

Re: For Uncle Joe's friends

Pleased to hear you're improving slowly Uncle Joe. Take it easy and be careful on those elbow crutches!
