It is reckoned the time taken for the mind 'to be notified' that the stomach does not need any more food is about 20 minutes. If on a diet it's recommended to eat food slowly, particularly main meals, and wait for 20 minutes to decide if you have eaten enough, which often works as the protein that generates the 'full' feeling has then had time to work.Re: Appetite control
