Re: More Brexit Doom and Gloom
Hi
I am pleased that a foreign company, JLR has decided to invest £500 million in the UK.
I also agree with Bread that falling car sales are nothing to do with Brexit, but with the electrifican of cars.
The worldwide amount of investmest in new engines is £240 Billion, VW alone is investing £70 Billion.
A Worldwide investment of less than 1% of the Global Total here in the UK is not however a victory for Brexit.
I also agree with Bread that the UK is a centre of excellence for Car Design and engineering.
Many F! Teams are based here, because of that.
I also agree with him that we World Leaders in battery design and technology.
Unfortunately, we do not manufacture here in the UK, companies manufacture elsewhere.
Dyson's desigh and labs are here in the UK, but they manufacture elsewhere.
Ford, the huge car manufacturers, have their design and technology headquarters here in the UK.
They are closing all manufacturing here.
It is the British Disease, we are world leaders in innovation, less so in manufacturing.
Our Industrial Productivity is 38% lower than that of the French.
The French are not known for hard work.
We are still suffering from restrictive practices.
The best example of this is the Railways.
Numerous strikes about staffing on trains.
I travel extensively, I have been quite happy on driver less trains and metros.
I am used to getting on a train which leaves on time and arrives on time.
That is a rare occurrence here in the UK.
