I am double posting. This is posted at my bar, but I know not all of you view that thread.
When I am travelling to foreign countries, I always try to learn some of the languages, even if it is one or two words.
So, when I was in Bulgaria a short while ago, I hated their tea - yuk, so I thought I would try the coffee. Now I drink my coffee very milky, so I found out the word for latte was watte. Now my hubby still laughs, I asked the waitress, not knowing she was Russian, for a watte. Well back she comes with cokes for the rest of my family, and a bottle of water for me!!!!
No I tried to explain I want coffee with milk lots of milk. She spoke perfect English, and replied to me saying "Not wilk then?"
