We've had Chamber Pots but what about Tippler Toilets.... anyone???? When I was very young I always remember my Aunty had one of these-I also remember being petrified of going to the toilet in case I fell down it, but had no choice because we always had to go to the toilet before we set off home as it was a long walk. My heart used to sink when told we were going to see Aunty.................

Mmmm, I think my toilet memories would be restricted to semi-outside ones (sort of downstairs but 'out the back' - not at the bottom of the garden but relegated outside the back door, alongside the coal house or shed). I certainly remember when all toilets were high cistern and you really had to 'pull the chain' - funny that we still tend to use that expression now, long since there were chains.

Speaking of loos, does anyone remember big iron bathtubs with claw feet? My grandma's was green.
