I swear, and admit to it. But I know in whose company I can and can't do it.

Just something I'll share with you. A few decades ago, when I wrote the short story (that now forms the basis of my ever going novel) for a creative writing adult education class, I wrote that one character swore. Our tutor said to me, and to the class, write that word down, however profound!

Oooer, I thought. So swearing in books is permitted? So I rewrote that part, and have to confess that another main character swears like a trooper, but he has an excuse! No, he doesn't have Tourettes, but is angry with his wife, and seemingly the world. I love writing for him.

I think I'd better get the laptop out and carry on with it...
