The actual numbers paying for a TV licence is of complete indifference to me.

All that matters to me is that I don't pay for a politically biased broadcasting organisation which also attempts to charge me for watching every other live TV channel!

As I have mentioned before, by not paying the BBC Tax, I can use the same money to pay for Netflix and Prime and, in addition, I can watch all catch-up channels like ITV, 4 and 5 without paying anything.
The only channels I may not watch are the BBC live and catch-up ones and I certainly have no wish to watch them!

Yes with the population growth the BBC maw well have had increased funding but as I said, for the last 10 years their funding has remained constant and the size of the population does not materially alter their spend so, as long as the fee has kept pace with inflation they have not been defunded, only lost possible additional revenue so, no depreciation in real terms which may not be what you want to hear but that’s what the stats indicate

It's all media-hyped bullpoop Solly.
Of course with you being EU-resident EUrophile and so obviously from your posts far more worried about Brexit than most Britons you will never understand that, purposely.

FYI this is neither accurate nor news.
Dyson has always lived primarily in the UK.
He did buy an expensive penthouse in Singapore ........ and sold it again in 2020!

Quite JB.....

However, I try to watch as little TV as is possible, I prefer to make my own adventures instead of watching someone else's, but come the end of the day when I've just polished off my evening meal, I collapse onto the sofa like some beached whale and catch up with Coronation Street and watch whatever suits me, because although I'm tired, it's too early to go to bed. I'm usually perusing the forum and peering over my specs at some documentary or travel programme, it's only when it starts to look interesting (which is rare) do I shut down the computer and give it my full attention.

I still pay my TV licence because there are still some programmes on the beeb that I enjoy: Bargain Hunt, Antiques Roadshow, Pointless etc, and the local weather which I must say is extremely accurate. Paying to watch would only encourage me to get my money's worth and watch more TV, but while ever I'm able to step out of the door and enjoy nature, the world and nagging with my neighbours, I'm afraid the telly is way down on my list of priorities....

But you are paying to watch!

Incidentally, Marge and I have stopped watching Queer Street now. There are so many things more worth watching and we just got so fed up with all the PC messages!

All the attacks on James Dyson (all of them from the left I might add) is damaging philanthropy projects that big business pay for.

The so called socialists should take note that when their principle of "spreading the wealth" happens right under their noses, they might want to say "thank you" instead of throwing lies and cheap shots around.

Big business will remember how they have been treated and be very careful the next time around. The so-called socialists are accountable and responsible for the damage they have caused.

What a country! Dependent on the whims and goodwill of a few rich, instead of the government to care for their citizens.
But in a country where a footballer tells the pm how to feed poor school kids, it is no wonder the foorball club's owners think they can rule the country.

You must either love the country or hate it to be spending so much time talking about it instead of your own country.

Don't the Dutch have forums where you can discuss your own problems, like your cabinet child benefit scandal and cover-up?
