a typical reply expected from a person living in the EU who just can't accept how well we are doing.

Get over it or do as we have done and stick up two fingers and leave.

Nah, that would have been the easiest way to make fools of ourselves. We left that to the british. It turns out you are quite good at that.

You are making it up then, seems you can’t accept the reality that there are no sunlit uplands.

To your credit, at least your not claiming the UK has faired better with the pandemic because of Brexit.

You need to stop thinking the EU is the only place on earth.

It's only a small part of world trade.. it used to be bigger but the second biggest contributer and biggest export market outside the single market left.

New customs rules are not responsible for the 41% drop in value of goods to the UK. I could explain but its pointless because you will just make something up again.

Oh, but you still are a big export market, no denying. You own data showed german and french exports to the UK returning to historic levels. It's YOUR export to the EU is 40% down. And you haven't found a replacement market 😥😢😭

The EU is our largest export market
The USA is our second largest export market

Trade with our largest export market has been seriously disrupted as we have decided to put up trade barriers with that market that include previously not required customs checks, non tariff barriers including duty, vat on shipping/postage and masses of additions red tape/paperwork and requiring EU Buisiness Ed to Collect VAT on behalf of the UK government on items up to £135

Exports to the USA carry on as usual with the exception of Biden removing Trumps punitive tariffs on certain products

Exports to our largest market fall dramatically

Exports to the USA carry on as usual

Trade has been disrupted because of stockpiling and the pandemic. Trade will go back to normal levels they are already going that way.

Come on, you can do better can you?
I am far from being pissed of, really. As I posted here several times, I am more than happy for the UK to have left. Moreover I do not envy you any success, just the opposite really.

Anyway you did not answer my question, and I hope that you will forgive me for asking again: what is the source of your assessment?

You say my response was typical, where is that evidence for that judgement or which is the basis for that judgement?

Our exports are 40% down due to businesses being closed during the pandemic. The same will go for the rest of the world.

Stop making things up. Your looking at January's figures when the UK was locked down. Germany and France are still in lockdown and will be most likely to the end of the year.

British exports to the EU fell from £ 13,6 bn to 5,6. EU exports to the UK decreased from £ 22,8 to 16,6. By percentage UK's export deminished by 41%, that of the EU by 28,8%. Considering the UK had stockpiled, the EU's performance is nowhere as bad as UK.

Either the EU is handling covid much better, or brexit is smashing the UK's export. No way around it, but of course this is what you voted for?
