Re: Got a good nose?

It is thought that pheromones are what cause a group of women who live together to bring on each other's menstrual cycle. It's obvious we give off a personal odour no matter if we like it or not.

Re: Got a good nose?

I find metals leave a smell on your hands when you’ve worked with them, and metal is not a living thing. Silver, Gold, platinum, brass, copper, iron and steel all leave different smells on your hands when you’ve been handling them for a while.
We used to have a chap drinking in the local back in the 70’s and he could tell you the name of any pint of ale (we had about 10 different types of draught ale in the pubs then) by smell, he would do it for a bet and he would be blindfolded so he couldn’t see the colour, then they were all mixed about on the counter, he never failed, great nose on him.

Re: Got a good nose?

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you’d be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!

Doesn't mean to say they haven't noticed yours.

Lovers often know each others smell, and mothers/children too. It's more usual when someone is really close to someone else (I mean a strong emotional bond), then they would no doubt be able to pick out their scent on discarded clothing.

If you think we have no scent, how do tracker dogs do their work?

Re: Got a good nose?

I sniffed my husband and his clothes yesterday and couldn't define any smell, apart from the laundry detergent I use on our clothes.

Exactly Mups. Of course we all have a scent.

Perhaps your sense of smell is as good as your ear for music ? I tend to believe we all have a smell and if we are close to someone we can smell them.

Re: Got a good nose?

Believe me, when you work in a hospital environment you have a kean sense of smell. Nothing I ain't smelt yet. We're all human. Why do you think we wear deodorants and bathe so much?
