My given name is Michael, but the only person who ever called me that was my mum when I had been naughty. I can still hear her voice - "MICHAEL!!!!!"Everyone else called me Mick, which I much prefer. Occasionally someone who doesn't know me well will call me Mike, which for some strange reason I hate - it just doesn't seem to fit me at all.

My name on my birth certificate isn't Mollie, but something else.Whilst mum was confined after giving birth to me at home, he nipped out and had me registered and, when mum found out, she apparently clonked him on his head with a frying pan and berated him for it!
She wanted to call me Caroline and told him that she would never ever call me the name he'd given me, so from birth I've been called Mollie instead.
