Re: What Was The Very First Record You Ever Bought?

I used to watch Follyfoot Farm in the early 70s and bought the record from that show called Lightening Tree by the Settlers.
I still have it on vinyl but got my husband to download it for me so i could play it in the car. Needless to say he looked at me with pity when i played it to him.

Albatross was by Fleetwood Mac

SHERRY the FOUR SEASONS 4/6p

I swopped it for ROCKING GOOSE by Johnny & the Hurricanes.

I later regretted it and bought another SHERRY.

Re: What Was The Very First Record You Ever Bought?

The first record I ever bought was from a junk shop and it was a 78rpm record of the wonderful Paul Robeson singing "Mighty Like A Rose" - it thrust itself at me because I remember my dad singing it to me as a toddler (Paul Robeson was his favourite singer). - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYK4A-9wcs8

The first "pop" record I bought was Adam Faith - "What Do You Want" in 1959 (my first year in secondary school). - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgeFRgQpT8Y
