There are Flood Planes, on the Thames, near Reading.

They gave planning permission & built houses on them.

Now, whenever there is a high tide, guess what?

Yes, the houses flood!

Good thinking, planners (planers?)

Wiring it up to the grid might be a problem Dex, and then there is the sewage, gas and fresh water to consider....
However, some tribes do actually live on floating islands, but you don't see many on the forum.....And they defecate in the river......errrrrgh!

Flexible pipes and cabling would cover most of these issues.
