Remember getting told off by the teacher for using the following in an essay for English - 'as thick as two short planks' and 'as daft as a brush' - blamed my Dad-he used to use them regularly!

This has brought back some memories - when I was small I wanted something (a toy of some kind I think), My Mother (my own Dragon - Father's name was George - hence the diminutive) said I could have it when "Nelson got his other eye back".. Whilst travelling on bus, man got on with a patch over one eye - I made the obvious deduction, told 'Dragon' that indeed 'Nelson had got his eye back' and therefore could I now have (whatever it was I was after).
