Re: Not sure how safe this contactless is

I find that I am more frequently using BACS (bank transfer) for tradesmen.

As I'm with the very efficient First Direct, I telephone, get through very quickly, they ask me a quick security question and tell me that my voice recognition has been successful. I tell them the account number of the recipient, how much to send and that's it. The money is sent straight away.

I prefer to transfer money into people's accounts on-line, rather than pay by cheque.

Re: Not sure how safe this contactless is

I have just been reading some stats about Contactless payments.

According to Barclaycard, there has been a huge increase in contactless payments amongst us the nations 'silver spenders.'
They say Britain's over 60's are taking to 'touch & go' payments in their droves with the number of users up 11% more than any other age group.

They also say fraudulent transactions are low, at around 1p per £100. spent.

Maybe some like these cards because it saves them having to remember their pin number?

Re: Not sure how safe this contactless is

When talking about a cards and PIN numbers, PIN stands for 'Personal Identification Number'. If saying 'PIN number', what's really being said is:

Personal Identification Number number.

Re: Not sure how safe this contactless is

I was nervous about it at first but now get annoyed if i have to put a pin in. So much easier to touch and go especially when you start getting long sighted!
