Perhaps but after a husband got the battery sorted then he would want some extra-curricular bedtime action and who needs that at 3 a.m.?

They are pre programmed to beep during the night cos if they beeped during the daytime the chances are you may be out and wouldn't know the battery was low. ( Not really!) Most alarms have a "test" button. It pays to give it a push now and then just to make sure its ok. Be ready for the noise tho' cos its ear splitting.
