Re: England's 2nd exit from Europe in a week?

The best pass was made by Joe Hart - it went straight past him.

Iceland's population is so small that when boy meets girl they have to check a database to make sure they are not related!
I hope woeful Woy is not given all the stick because it really is down to the players on the field, and they are the best of our young ones!!!!!!!!

Re: England's 2nd exit from Europe in a week?

There is no excuse really for England - in my opinion the England football team is probably the best since the days of Lineker, Beardsley, Gascoigne, Beckham etc. Quite frankly they should have swamped the teams they've played against so far, but they could only scrape wins and draws ! They are better than that ! Somebody on TV mentioned pressure, but let's face it, it's the same for all the teams isn't it.

I think they should find another Shilton or Banks, Banksy was the best in the world in his day ! I also believe we have too many foreign players in our premiership league - there should be a cap on the number of foreign players in any one team. Perhaps the team should concentrate on short accurate, quick passes, closer marking of the opponents and taking penalty kicks - all the team !
Also, to be more relaxed and focussed !

Roy brought them on well and they showed they could win matches, so why can't they cope with major international matches ?

I have left my Welsh flag up and taken down the English flag.

As a second thought, I did notice that there was a lack of movement, of eagerness. Perhaps the team should have played as if it was a 'friend ', after all didn't they win all their pre-Europe matches ?

They should've played like pro's and not Sunday League bests.
Headless and chicken spring to mind.

Re: England's 2nd exit from Europe in a week?

Hodgson has hit the nail on the head and identified the problem.

He said it was time for someone else to lead this highly talented and hungry team.

Didn't they book full board accommodation?
