Re: FLORIAN's FRIGHTFUL FORENAME

I have a rather unusual name. I think my parents were hoping I would be somebody else.

My father wanted at least one son, but was saddled with four daughters, whom he had to get married off, a.s.a.p.

Re: FLORIAN's FRIGHTFUL FORENAME

There is one good thing about names, in that you can legally call yourself anything you please as an adult, so there is no reason for any of us to be unhappy with our name if we haven't come to terms with it by then....

Re: FLORIAN's FRIGHTFUL FORENAME

Like Willow's three daughters I have a French name, but I don't want to disclose what it is. Being first born child on my father's side of the family I inherited the family name - my Godmother (dad's sister) had it and her Aunt and her Great Aunt before and so on. Because it is quite unusual I felt burdened with it when I was young, but don't mind now, although it immediately identifies me and people either remember it or because they can't pronounce it they forget it.
