Where I live, a car is essential. Our two local shops are not the most helpful for stocking the fridge with essentials! And one bus an hour to the nearest large town isn’t too helpful!
Yes. I'm only 68 yet I made the mistake of being honest and stating that I am suspected of having glaucoma in one eye. Naturally, the DVLA instantly cancelled my licence and has been dragging their feet ever since I informed them in November.
In January, I was then informed that I have no sign of any glaucoma and, of course, I informed the DVLA.
Now, at the end of February, they have insisted that I have an eye examination at their preferred opticians, Specsavers. I am sure that the examination will concur with the findings above by the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital - regional specialists.
God knows how long it will take the DVLA to restore my licence after that!
In a year and a half, I too shall be 70 so I fully expect a similar pantomime then!
