Rub sore spot with lots of Vodka, that will take you mind off of it. I had a tooth out last Friday and was instructed not to smoke for 48 hours, not to drink / eat anything hot, no alcohol. Well, I nearly complied to all of them.

If it was a normal extraction it will feel a lot better tomorrow. If they had to cut the gum it may take a couple of days.
If you are still on painkillers, for your neck, they should be reducing the pain, but if you are not take a couple of paracetamol.
