Re: Hi all, as a newbie from today feeling my way around

Hi members, thanks heaps for your huge response in welcoming myself to what looks like being a very interesting forum, I am still making mistakes, obviously an age thingy. I am not to sure if a previous post I put on actually got into the system so forgive this ole fella if he is repeating himself.
Living with my wonderful wife Patricia of 54 years marriage, living in a little place ( Baldivis ) 50km south of Perth Western Australia, arrived as ten pound poms with our two young boys ( 4 years & a 10 month old ) in feb 1968 & stayed, increased with another boy a couple of years later.
It took 20 years for us to make our first trip back to the old country, have been a couple more times & we are booked for what well may be our last visit to the UK leaving from Perth29TH May this year & returning mid August, it will certainly be a big one for us. We have limited family over there so if possible we would like to see a little bit of England etc. which we haven't really seen,I will keep you posted as it gets closer..Terry

A big hi to you also Joe, you don't live to far from my old stomping ground, Littlehampton, way back in the 50'-60's,I guess there have been some major changes over the years, I guess the pier, beaches are about the same. I have memories of going to the Brighton Dome. Anyway mate all the very best to you.. keep in touch.Terry

Terry matey, yes there have been enormous changes to Brighton & Hove since you left - the two towns have now joined to form one city!!!

This is what's left of what you may have known as the West Pier:

This is what they are now building on the landward end of the remains of the West Pier:

And as you will see from the photos, what you probably knew as the 'Palace Pier' is now renamed 'Brighton Pier'.
