Go dancing. When I was in my teens my friends (I know your not in your teens now) and I used to go to a dance on a friday night, the main object was to ask a girl out to the pictures on saturday night. If you were dancing with a girl (we did not dance with other fella's in those days) you liked and fancied your chances you had to work up the courage to ask her out, but the fear of rejection was so strong that you had to have a backup plan in case you failed. This is how it went after the usual 'Do you come here often' line.'Are you doing anything tomorrow night?'
'Yes'
'Well don't forget to pull the chain when your finished'.

Brightened up my evening that has.
As for avoiding the football, well I have been busy in the workshop during the day and at night I watch GOLD which are all repeats but some (for me anyway) bear seeing again.
