Re: NHS Pay Rise
Watching a programme the other day about this there was a male nurse speaking on there. He said he left home at 06.00 hrs and returned home that day at 23.00 hrs. Allowing one hour travelling each way that is a 14-hour day after also allowing for a one-hour meal break. He also said he had to do two additional shifts each month just to make ends meet. The week he works then is 5 x 14 hours – a 70-hour week so paying about £8.24 an hour. The weekly pay at £30,000 pa is £576.92 minus about 25% deductions = £432.69 a week take home pay.Re: NHS Pay Rise

Because there are not enough nurses to go around as they cannot recruit. A nurse explained this to me. But at the moment that's all exacerbated by the pandemic and people having to self isolate or getting sick with covid. Same is true at GP surgeries and as we have seen supermarket deliveries....Re: NHS Pay Rise
