I intend to have a transfusion when I'm no longer able to lift a glass.

Gosh, that sounded a bit sharp.

I was not posting directly at you Sweetie, just a harmless general comment about NHS guidelines.

No I'm not giving up my red wine I don't care , I'll die knowing I enjoyed my wine and my fun nights with girlfriends and our enjoyable nights out . Yes I can enjoy a fun night with no booze as I often drive for the night , but giving up my wine is a definite no .

Sorry, Mupsy it must have come out wrong.
It wasn't meant that way at all.

I'm a West Country boy, was knocking back the scrumpy when I was 14, taking it easy now just a half bottle of red with dinner every night. Nothing else, no beer, no spirits, and def no scrumpy.

What's wrong with a straw? More bang for your buck

Anyway, it was good enough for Winston, so it's good enough for me.

Re: Health warnings about alcohol

I haven't had a sip of alcohol for must be ... easily 20 years now.
Doesn't interest me. Never has. Never liked that feeling of losing control through alcohol. A drunk is not an amusing sight.

But for those who like a tipple ... why not? I thought it was supposed to be good in moderation? Good for relaxing.

Dependency and binge drinking can be something else though but not the norm, not for most people who know their own limit.
