Your problem is that the EU has all the experienced international negotiators who have done all the negotiations for you in the past 40 years or so. Britain has a lot of catching up to do.
Hi
Yes Bruce, a very valid point.
We do have a lot of catching up to do.
It is not an insoluble problem though, providing our Politicians are up to the job.
The issue is however public opinion here in the UK.
You can see it on here in spades, cut pay for the Eurocrats, cut pay for Government Employees.
People follow the money, the best are very expensive to employ and we are trying to do it on the cheap.
That is why we have hundreds of vital jobs still unfilled and why the EU is paying them a fortune and locking them into Contracts.
The British Disease I am afraid.
Since 2010, Cameron and Osborne have savaged well qualified and experienced staff in the tens of thousands, often cutting their salaries by up to 30% before getting rid to save on Final salary Pensions.
They are not happy wombles and the current offers, to return to work, on Zero Hours Contracts at £35 an hour are a joke.
The best are being hoovered up by the EU and Foreign Companies at 4 times that amount with Guaranteed Pay.
An example, the EU Medical Agency, it is leaving the UK.
Pharmaceuticals ate a major export for the UK.
We will need to certify our own, set up our own agency.
All the senior staff are leaving, no one left, a big hit for the UK.
When we leave, we will have to certify all our Food Exports, no longer covered by the EU.
To do this, the person certifying must have an Advanced HACCP Certificate.
A simple choice, £35 an hour working for the UK Government on zero hours, or £42,000 a year full time.
Absolute peanuts, the EU food producers, even those based in the UK, are offering £50K a year plus £10 a container for the signature.
Seventy containers a day for a large size operator, ten a day for the smaller ones.
Do the Maths, it is not Rocket Science.
