You could try joining a reputable dating site Ted,I'm sure there are Women Members in Your age group who are just looking for a Friend/companion too...worth a try.

It is a misconception that all dog walkers are looking for companionship, there are many insular folks just walking the Dog. Imo.

Any other notion is just a romantisication, most Dog walkers don't even Scoop!!

Ted, there is a sort of 'Friendship Club' in my area, and it is only for people over 55 (I think).
I have never been there, but I believe it is just a social group where they can meet others and chat and have something to eat.

Is there anything like that in your area?

The 'find a friend' section in Yours magazine is the place to look.

There are no end of ladies looking for just the thing.

I joined a dating site eight years ago, when l was on my own. It was the best thing l ever did.
I have met some lovely men, some l still keep in touch with and they have become really good friends.
Not everyone has bad experiences on dating sites. Most of us are all in the same boat!
