Re: Hands on Dads
My dad was very "Hands on" when he could be - during my childhood he usually worked at the factory from 7am to 7pm every weekday, and 7am to 1pm on Saturdays (overtime was the only way he could make ends meet!). When he got home he was exhausted but always found time for a cuddle with us kids and to read us a story. On Sundays, he would let my mum rest and look after us while cooking breakfast and dinner and cleaning the whole house. I took him as an example, and was always "hands on" with my own kids, and now, I'm a "hands on" grandad. The highpoint of my day is feeding my grandson George his breakfast - we have such a great time and sometimes laugh so much he forgets to eat!
