Same here when I found myself cashier at a firm. I had to sort loans out too & do all the paper work, but I learnt.

I'm a bit odd I loved maths when it came to theoretical things but can't count for toffee, so equations I excelled at but give me a straight forward adding sum I'm lost.

Managed to get a B at O'level if there had been more actual numbers involved I would have failed.

I was always crap at Maths
Could just about do Algebra but geometry was my worse bearbug.
Never could work out the angles .

Give me and the average teenager a list of twenty three-digit numbers (e.g. 873, 494, 627 etc) to add up.
The kid has a calculator.
Betcha I get the correct answer long before the kid.
It's my party-piece. Been doing it for years. Even won money.
