Being able to attend the wedding of my eldest grandson, in Australia in October and making my vote count on leaving the EU.

After all the claims that the Brexit referendum would result in our staying under the jackboot, my 2016 highlight was hearing that the Brexiteers had won. This was closely followed by subsequent discoveries that the scare stories proved to be completely unfounded.

Probably my holiday in Tenerife, mainly because it was the first time my grandkids went abroad. A big family holiday.
