We couldn't afford toys so I used a stick as a pretend Tommy gun.

Isn't a kids imagination a fantastic thing.

I was more primitive ... I used to stand on sentry duty at the top of the drive with a bamboo garden cane, laying in wait for the postman.

My granddad bought me a golden (coloured) trumpet when I was about eight. Oh how I loved that trumpet - I think it was my all time favourite toy.

I had a set of plastic farm and zoo animals that I just loved .... and books. Loved books. Had the best times reading under the covers with my flashlight. Also my bike.
