I'm convinced it's the solicitors who drag their heels in these situations. I reckon it can only be be to try and justify their charges. The very best of luck with the move Sue. You will probably sleep for a week after you move in.

In a housing chain, your Solicitor is not working for you alone, it is in no one's interest for the chain to collapse so, probably, an agenda is set by all legals involved, with each one taking a bit of responsibility for any hiccup, at any given time, the object to make the chain successful, and obtain maximum revenue from it.
A bit like a Wrestling Match, where the agenda is pre-arranged by the promoter, the logic is sometimes twisted, but the result clear.

Your not kidding EZ, i wouldn't have cared but it wasn't our solicitor that was exchanging for us, she was off!
Not sure about sleeping for a week though, i'll be thinking we'll buy this and we'll put that there
