The "problem" with soaps, and according to a policeman friend also in programmes such as "The Bill", is that about a years' activities and incidents are condensed into a very short timeframe to make it "interesting". I'm a realist so I find it hard to suspend disbelief, along with apparently poorly educated people with criminal records and no skills who are in constant employment, can always afford two sessions in the pub every day, run businesses with no customers that can nonetheless support whole families, always have somewhere to live and can park their cars right outside where they need to be.
