It never used to worry me walking in the dark when I was younger, however, there have been so many rapes and assaults on women in the locality lately that I wouldn't now take Amber out for a walk after dark. Give me back those unlit dark country lanes I used to walk as a teenager and was never afraid, wouldn't do it now.04-02-2016, 07:33 PM

Paul in the day I walk the fields where I know there are no humans to spoil my walk, total freedom and isolation except for my dog and the sheep. At night I go down a deserted lane past the churchyard, the dead don't say a lot, more isolation.
The only place I feel afraid is when walking in a city surrounded by humans .
