Ladybugs come in the house when it gets cold in Autumn; they can creep trough very tiny cracks or crevices, and hibernate. They don't eat then. As the days lengthen they tend to wake and are attracted to the sun/warmth at windows; that's when you notice them. They are harmless and excellent predators on aphids

This is a not very good pic I took in Autumn. I noticed Leia was watching something intently ... it was a ladybug crawling over the paper.

She'd never seen anything like that before! She normally doesn't bother anything smaller than mice, but it really caught her eye as it meandered slowly along.
