Lyrics from the Emerald Isle

A soldier of fortune came home from war
And wondered what he was fighting for
This sad-eyed soldier, he broke down and cried
Oh he was so broke up inside

Re: Soldiers of Fortune

I have had a very bad night-bloody insomnia so just now I feel just a wee bit cynical;

I don't think the Muslims are big with stirring hymns - they just like the sound of bombs, particularly when wrapped around someone!!

Re: Soldiers of Fortune

Due to the very high level of training ex UK & US Military personnel can earn huge bounties fighting for "others", and why not? Essentially the Ghurkas are soldiers of fortune and they, it could be argued, are the most ruthless and respected non-special service regiment in the British armed forces. British people have served in the French Foreign Legion and have returned home, so hell yes, as long as an individual is not seen as a threat to the state, come home.

Great to get news from the old country Spitty. now a bit more local to where I am.

An soldier of misfortune came home from the pub
This old fella was a real old Dub
The night was cold but his heart was hot
Until the wife hit him with the pot.
