get off the bus to get another one, that's when the heavens
opened up and in a few minutes the roads were running with
at least 3 or 4 inches of water and at speed. The width on
either side of the road was over two large strides so to get across I had to jump into both sides of the water to get to the other side.
My sandals were swimming in it
The buses and cars on the main road were going through it and causing
a giant wave which was shooting over 5feet in the air. A pedestrians
shower I think I will call it. Needless to say I was drenched
Hope everyone has a lovely day. Take care.
Oh poor you! I hate getting drenched in downpours, and yes it has happened several times. Two years running at the Lowestoft air show with Mum, and we both caught it in Sorrento waiting for a bus. Horrible.

Re: Happy Sunday Folk.

Morning everybody. I've just been looking at my flowers - I don't have a geranium left. Yesterday's storm battered all their heads off!
It's a nice bright morning here in my little corner of Derbyshire. Later today hubby & I are going for a pub lunch and hopefully an afternoon walk.

Have a good day all.

Good Morning all, yet another hot one. Doors wide open front to back and two tower fans stretched between to circulate the air. Could with A/C. I am afraid with my health issues I cannot take this heat.

Have a lovely day all, God bless.

Re: Happy Sunday Folk.

Good morning fellow members still very humid here.
The family are coming to lunch so I am rushing around like a mad thing.

The very fragile chocolate 'thingy' has just broken in half as I put it on the serving plate , had to cobble it back together again and cove it up with a dusting of cocoa and icing sugar.

It's too hot for cooking, roll on bed time

Good morning all back to normality after the storms ....

The garden is looking slightly wild with plants flattened by the heavy rain, hopefully they will have a chance to recover in today's sunshine.

Enjoy your day everyone...

Moyra darlin' all fans do is move the air around, they don't cool it. Get yourself a proper air cooler (I have one and wouldn't now be without it). I fill it up with water I keep stored in the fridge, add a few ice cubes and Voila!! really cool air blowing on me - wonderful!!!
