The red underpants superman wears on the outside of his tights were offensive to people who cannot stand the sight of blood and the Labour Party, so the health and safety wanted to change the colour to green, however a dispute arose with the producers of the "Green Lantern" comics who said Green Lantern fans would feel betrayed and confused, blue was then suggested but it would clash with the rest of the costume and the Labour Party intervened saying it would make the Tories think they were Super-heros and that would be a disadvantage to them come election time. Yellow would imply Superman was chicken so that was ruled out too. Pink was next but that was shot down straight away as Superman was not Gay (or so we are told). Studio executives were at their wits end and had a schedule to meet, so in the end it was decided to do away with them altogether and to hell with the consequences.

My hero was Christopher Reeve as Superman
and it remains to be seen if this new guy has what it takes.
We have to move with the times
and I guess an update of the uniform (Costume)
was inevitable?

Yes Christopher Reeve is my superman too Michael, he even looks like the superman in the old DC comics, square jaw and all, but like you say, time for a change.Wonder what the real Robin Hood looked like, I keep seeing him as Errol Flynn portrayed him in the film.

UJ Richard Greene wasn't sexy like Errol Flynn. He was a great looking guy.Loved Christopher Reeve as Superman and a shame what happened to him in real life. That is a sad story. The new guy Henry Cavell looks OK and it will take time to see what happens to his time as Superman. He is also English so first time non American.

Making up this picture and placing them side by side was the only way I could compare the two of them.I expect we will soon have many high resolution pictures of the new guy.
Perhaps he will grow on us?
After all we accept changes to Bond & Dr Who?
