If it were an honour killing (oxymoron) there is no logical reason why it should have been done in such a public way. For that matter there is no ILLOGICAL reason why it should have been done in such a public way.
I wonder if the sentence for plain old murder in Holland is less than for an act of murder that is associated with an act of hate?
Actually it is the case.
Although there is no legislation that results in a more serious charge where hate has been involved the reality is that sentences where such is the case are always the maximum permitted by law and early release becomes much more problematic.
