I have always wondered what is the point of Australia, on the world stage what does it do?
It has has had some sporting success in the past, makes atrociously bad lager and tv soap operas but what else? Influence wise I would rate it alongside Belgium who make better lager.

I think we all know that Great Britain is only part of the United Kingdom, but does it matter...... after all, GB are the ones who are showing the Aussies how well we are doing in the Olympics.

Great Britain is a geographical term for the island we live on; the United Kingdom includes the smaller islands and Northern Ireland.

The full name for the UK is "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

I agree, Twinky.

Great Britain = geographical
United Kingdom = political (but includes NI)

Does it really matter which term we use?
