Me too BB. Somehow I don't think our rank would get us into the finest restaurants without a reservation though!

Re: The Forces titles

Should I put K.O (kennel owner) before my name and "retired" after it then as I served the community for nearly 25 years? No titles in the forces should stay in the forces.

It means absolutely nothing but "look how good I was"

I can't say I've really thought about it. But after reading through this, I'm now left thinking why don't those high up in the police force and firefighters (do firefighters have ranks?) use their title?

Rapist John Smith
An excellent example of where the exact opposite should take place.

If someone has attained a senior rank, eg, Colonel, that title would be added.

In the case of a rapist, something should be removed!

For a laugh, my dad used to add the letters 'AS, IS, FGS' after his name.

(Africa Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star)

Actually, 'FGS' also refers to a Fellow of the Geographical Society, though this never got my dad into any posh restaurants.

Yeah, and Major sounded good when he diddled the money out of "Who wants to be a Millionaire" too.

Not a thing here unless you're a governor or a retired VCA or something like that. In he US it's if you found a fast food chain.

That's made me think . . . don't Doctors keep their title too?
And what about Professers?
