A few years ago, I suggested to a friend that all text messages between us were in French. The object was to keep up our diminishing French vocabularies. It worked quite well for a while, but gradually the volume diminished into zero.

Might be an option for language schools n'est pas ?

Local language school here insists all conversations no matter what the medium are in English. They seem to do really well at teaching everyone the language.

I can't bear text talk, especially from people in our age group! Do they think they are teenagers?!!
If someone sends me a message/text with text talk, l send a message back saying, l don't understand and would they translate it!
I do really understand it but text talk really annoys me!

Me too Art! If somebody wants to tell me something by text I expect them to type the message in a language I understand. If they don't have the time to type in full... why don't they make a phone call to tell me..... that is what phones were for!

Twink, l suppose l'm just being old fashioned and awkward but l can't bear text talk! When they say, 'Send me your 'addy'! It takes me over the edge and that's another story!!
