Re: Premium bond win

I have a Bond maturing soon of some £thousands (?5 or 3), and instead of reinvesting or putting it into my account will put it all in P Bonds. Had one win of £25, hold £110.

Well done.

Re: Premium bond win

Well Meg & Mags, it's not enough to buy anything very expensive, so
I'll just settle for a nice glass of wine please. Failing that, you could indulge yourself with a nice little treat.
It's hardly a fortune I know, but it's better than a poke in the eye with a wooden stick aint it

Re: Premium bond win

We took our savings out of ISA's & bought Premium Bonds instead & so far we have had a much higher return than we ever did on the ISA's.

Hope so, just small amounts at present, but they mount up over a year.

Re: Premium bond win

I know folk who win regularly but I'd guess they've invested a lot in them, I've won £50 since I first got mine around 20 years ago!

Oh well, when the envelopes arrived the anticipation of a big prize was nice while it lasted.

Now what shall I spend it on any suggestions.....
I sympathise.

Many years ago, when I lived in London, I had 8 draws in the Football Pools. I got very excited until the news told the world that there were 13 draws that week, I received a cheque for 19/-.

Still better than being attacked by someone wielding a banana.

Bruce I remember my Dad checking the pools results each week given out by a voice on the radio and we all had to be very quiet.

A number of times there was great excitement and the certainty he had won, but the amounts were always small..
