I feel especially nostalgic looking at my Mum's house, and also the farm where I lived.
After sixty odd years I called at the small cul de sac where I lived as a kid to see what it looked like.
A guy mid thirties walked out of my old house.I said 'Hi' and told him I had been born there many moons ago and it still looked the same....his reaction?...he glared at me and said "F*** Off!"...
Don't some people make you sick?
Trying a conversation with another neighbour minutes later,I mentioned my recent friendly reception...the old guy said..."Oh ignore that pig, nobody here likes him he's an ignoramus!"...Then invited me in for a cuppa and a chat with his missus who was a local lass...nice people.
Interesting to note that the houses when built in '36 were £600....he paid £148.000 for his last year.
PS...a neighbours Monkey Puzzle Tree was a few feet high when I was a kid....today it's just about reached the top of the bedroom windows...not a good choice if you want a fast grower.
