I quite like the fashion . It's the tudors and elizabethans when woman looked like they were wearing a kidney dressing tables with curtains .. nightmare.
Chairs had to be made wider

When I first saw Colin Firth in P&P I wasn't bovvered!
Yet when I saw the smouldering looks he gave Bridget Jones...
I'd have happily torn my garments asunder for a bit of that

I've loved Colin firth in all his romantic roles. I was still in my teens when I first came across him. But he was really amazing in Pride and Prejudice. That smouldering look, the disapproving pout, those thighs! He was a perfect Darcy. Also loved Jennifer Ehle in the role and of course the superb Alison Steadman.

The "historical reconstruction" looks like the kind of prat who would burn a £20 note in front of a homeless person.
Having said that, who cares? Jane Austen has to be the most over-rated, boring, irrelevant author ever.
