Re: Solo dining on the rise

Think I'd eat by myself but would take a book - for company. If it was a Saturday night in a swanky place, maybe not!

I love eating out but wouldn't go on my own. I don't even like going for a coffee by myself!

Re: Solo dining on the rise

If I lived alone and worked I think I'd be eating out quite a bit, no- one bothers these days anything goes. I do go into a cafe for a cup of tea if I shop alone in town someone nearly always asks can they sit with me so I get a chat too.

I've even taken in a movie on my own.. I don't mind it one bit.. Have you ever watched some married couples dining out? NOT hardly a word between them... very much like eating alone anyway..

Wouldn't worry me at all. Will do it if I have to - and you can't beat a bit of people watching.

Re: Solo dining on the rise

If I'm out somewhere around lunchtime and I'm peckish, yes, I will frequently pop in a café or whatever for a sarnie and cuppa, but I wouldn't go out at night for an evening meal on my own. I probably wouldn't go in a pub on my own either, not unless it was a village pub where I knew everyone in there, I might then.
