Re: Dating

I shair the first part of what Moyra says. I would even go so far as to say that there are more 53's around than any other age group. Now that I got that off my chest I can move on... Good on you for reaching out and trying. O.K. it did not work for you but you gave it a try. Is that it though? will you try again? I got the sence you were baseing this on one attempt and not every one is like me and this other person. I wish you well.

Re: Dating

Not tried dating online or other for years. It would cramp my style now.
Being 15 years old than you can I tell you young lady I am not old.
I am still 21 in my head its just that the body keeps forgetting that.
Hope you meet someone soon if that's what you want.
Take care with it as I have heard of some disasters online dating.
Maybe you could meet someone in a social thing like going to a dance
or meeting someone at a pub etc. What do I know

I wish you well with your dating ambitions. Still very much young enough to attempt it, at 70 next month I believe it has passed me by. Besides having a live in son of nearly your age I am unlikely to meet anyone who will take me on. Perhaps I could interest you in a near 52 year old, quite domesticated Gemini?

Don't tell me you're a bloke Moyra - boy, did you fool me

Re: Dating

When I was in my early fifties I had some interesting adventures with dating agencies - met someone ten years my junior and had a very lively and enjoyable time. Didnīt last sadly, and eventually we went our separate ways. It was great if exhausting at the time though - never regretted it. The fifties must be a good age to be before the final stages of ageing kick in. Good luck - donīt waste it!

No Patsy, that is my son Steve who lives with me and has done for the last 14 years since his grandmother died, never been married but had a couple or three relationships that went nowhere in his twenties but a genuine nice guy!

Re: Dating

Well what a lot of lovely replies! Thank you all.

I shall continue in my quest for love but not on THIS site's dating arm

And I was a little tongue in cheek when i called myself old at 53. Although some days i feel 93

I've joined another dating site to see how that goes. My daughter is 16 and is flying with her A levels and her drama.

I need a little me time now!!

Re: Dating

We don't have a dating site as far as I know, if it was an advert then it is nothing to do with this forum and from my experience with the ads I would say probably a con !
