I will make mine next week. I don't bother to marzipan or ice it, as only my husband, one of my daughters and I will eat rich fruit cake, so I see no point in doing so.

First year we are not doing one, usually I make three but the two we usually give away are not needed as the people have either gone into homes of died we are also only a small party for Christmas this year just three of us on the day so Steven is making a stolen, never made one before but he is going have a go.

Mrs LDs always used to make lovely mince pies with an orange pastry and filled with proper full fat cream cheese but these days it's impossible to buy the cheese anywhere.
