Brexit is not a sideshow, COVID is under control now, EU businesses need their 2nd biggest export market in the world in order to recover.
Look at their trade surplus are you saying they don't need it because they make it up within the EU member states ? They are all in recession....
No newspaper articles on the continent about the brits leaving. Much more important things to keep our leaders busy. Barnier is free to move within his mandate.

Sounds to me like the brits have given in, outside the view of journalists. So contrary to this thread's title, it seems the brits are caving in on fisheries.
It could be of course because of the similar hard stance of the EU on crime-fighting.
