The people above us used to walk about a lot in the night and we could hear every squeak of their floorboards! Lack of a good nights sleep spoiled it for us..
I would expect it's been renovated since then.
The Savoy in Blackpool was like that too with squeaky floorboards, in fact no matter how hard we tried we couldn't walk about our room without squeaking the floorboards, and we got terribly loud dicso music one night from another function.
The ballroom was lovely, but that was the only good thing I could say about it, although the food was ok.
Which 2 nights are you staying in February myrtle?
