Smart Man

my daughter works in a nursing home
she was just on the phone
theres a man in there who knows what day of any date you give him
and what happend on that day from when he woas born
my daughter just asked him what date her dads birthday was and she told him the year he told her friday and there was a bi fsnow storm 5 days before that
he just came right out with it he didnt even have to think for a min

That is amazing Pixie!. I knew an old lad in the pub years ago who could tell you the names of all the horses who won all the classic races since 1900, but that's nothing compared to your story.

yestrday when fiona called me she asked him he siad it right away he did not
even take a min to think about it
he knows everything what went on on that day
hes in a nursing home even though hes not even 60 yet

This man will be suffering from savant syndrome its a bit like autism the sufferer have developmental issues but has an expertise in a certain area like being a fantastic drawer of building with every detail included or numbers or as Pixie says this person knows dates. I once knew a boy of 18 who knew every single question and answer from every series of Going for Gold on TV very strange syndrome but true. I would imagine thats why this man is in the nursing home.

Thats right annie they had him on TV a bit he drew St Pancras station with all its wonderful gargoyles and arches. He had savant syndrome as well.

Yes, as poppycock says this is a typical form of a type of autism. Did anyone see the film Rainman years ago? Dustin Hoffman was fantastic as an autistic man in that.
